The campus community plays an important role in keeping stormwater clean. Healthy clean water habits can help protect the University's receiving streams and make our campus a safer place.

You are the Solution to Storm Water Pollution

Stop litter. Litter detracts from the beauty of our campus. It clogs drains leading to localized flooding and contributes to pollution in Boneyard Creek.

Report water pollution. If you see water pollution on campus, call Environmental Compliance at 217.265.9828.

Watch what you put in drains. Keep laboratory chemicals out of all drains. Refer to the Chemical Waste Management Guide for proper chemical disposal.

Participate in a campus clean up. Environmental Compliance helps sponsor two events a year: Boneyard Creek Community Day and Pirates Plunder (part of iHelp).

Report Spills. If you witness or discover a release of petroleum product (such as car oil or gasoline) or any other hazardous substance, follow these instructions.
