Parking rates for the
FY07 have been approved and are posted on our website.
This year, our rates will increase
by 7%, translating to a $2.33/month increase for faculty/staff and $12/semester
for students.
Several years ago our Campus Parking Master Plan called for an annual rate
increase in the range of 13-15% to offset anticipated debt. Budget considerations
delayed implementing those increases for a few years until modest rate increases
(7.9%) resumed last year. Earlier this year, the central campus parking deck
construction project was placed on hold pending the outcome of a campus transportation
study. This means we will not be realizing the additional debt, and as a
result, do not need to implement the full 13-15% increase called for in the
Master
Plan. The campus transportation study should be completed within this calendar
year, at which time rate increase percentages will be re-evaluated with further
direction from University Administration.
