Two areas of Facilities & Services are hosting major Midwest conferences in 2006. Representatives from the Planning and Maintenance Divisions are hosting the Midwest Landscape Architects & Grounds Managers Conference in mid-June. This three-day event focuses on topics ranging from planning to benchmarking, and features tours of North Campus, the new Alumni Center, the Arboretum and Japan House, the South Farms, and an excursion to Allerton Park. Chancellor Richard Herman will welcome the 60 expected attendees with an address at the Illini Union on the first day of the conference.
The Big Ten Printing & Copyright Conference is being held at the Hawthorne Suites Hotel and Convention Center from September 26-29, 2006. This thirty-ninth annual meeting of printing and copyright professionals from across the Midwest features seminars covering a variety of topics, including copyright permissions, variable data applications and print technologies. More than 80 participants, vendors, and presenters from across the country will attend the conference.
Hosting these types of events
is one more way for Facilities & Services
to reinforce its role in supporting the University of Illinois’ mission
as a world-class institution of higher education.
