Overview
With the increase in the number
of capital construction projects on campus over the last 5-6 years there
has been a need to provide project management
staff commensurate with the volume of construction in progress. This problem
was recognized and the Dean’s Budget Committee recommended several years
ago that capital construction projects should bear the cost of project management
services. For various reasons this approach has not yet been fully adopted.
This past year several auxiliary projects were assessed a fee to provide project
management services, but no comprehensive methodology had been adopted for
all capital projects. Facilities & Services is moving to a full cost recovery
model for project management support.
