| Facilities & Services Launches Deferred Maintenance Web Site
CHAMPAIGN, IL-The University of Illinois' Facilities & Services has launched a web site dedicated to its Deferred Maintenance project. The site is accessible through the Facilities & Service Web site at www.fs.uiuc.edu.
The new web site will include continual updates and communication regarding the Deferred Maintenance repairs being made across campus. The site outlines information on project financing, including detailed explanations of the Academic Facilities Maintenance Fund Assessment (AFMFA) fee and other funding sources. Additionally, the web site incorporates images and information about the various categories and classifications into which each repair has been determined to belong. A frequently asked questions page is also available for viewing.
"The Deferred Maintenance web site makes it extremely easy for people to learn more about what these repairs are and why they are necessary for the university," said Carl Wegel, Director of Maintenance at Facilities & Services. "This is the best way for us to communicate information about the Deferred Maintenance project to all interested parties, including faculty, staff, parents, and community members."
The Deferred Maintenance project goal is to ensure the functionality and aesthetic quality of the University, as well as maintaining its ability to provide a world class education to its 35,000 plus student enrollment. The web site has been put in place to make the process of completing these repairs more straightforward for all members of the University community.
"The new site is very easy to access and use," said Wegel. "The goal is for it to act as a hub for anyone seeking information about Deferred Maintenance. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about Deferred Maintenance and the AFMFA Fund, especially students and parents, to visit the site."
