Appendix 21. Proposed Long Range Program University of Illinois Campus Development Plan, 1956

This plan, prepared by Richardson, Severns and Associates, Architects, was based on seventeen planning principles some of which include: retain the basic mall concept, develop the east-west mall, establishment of colleges in proper relationship with respect to student movement and administrative functions, and use open spaces opposite building masses to provide contrast and visual space movement throughout campus.
