Increase Volume of Recycled Materials
Seek student assistance to increase volume of recycled materials
November 17, 2007 marked the 10th anniversary of the operation of the campus Waste Transfer Station (WTS). Over the years, the University has recycled approximately 2,500 semi loads of materials! This effort kept 53,000 tons out of the landfill and generated $3.5 million. Looking towards the future, WTS is working with Community Organized Recycling Effort (CORE) and Students for Environmental Concerns (SECS) to improve on the campus' already impressive recycling record.
