Gregory Hall is located on the Quadrangle with Lincoln hall to the north and Foellinger Auditorium to the east. The Main Library is to the southwest while Wright Street borders to the west.
There are two bus stops near Gregory Hall, the nearest being the Rehabilitation Bus stop. From the rehab bus stop, you will exit the bus facing east. Proceed east 60 feet along a wide, paved driveway used for service vehicles. It will branch south. There is a slight inclined slope with a dumpster on your right (west), and beyond 2 bollards is the entrance.
From the MTD and Campus bus stop at the corner of Wright and Armory, exit the bus facing south. If you are a wheelchair user you will need to follow the bike path east for 55 feet where there is a path branching east, ramping up to the main north-south sidewalk parallel to Wright Street. If you are walking you should leave the bus facing south. Go up 3 steps to a main sidewalk and turn east. Go east 50 feet to the main intersecting sidewalk and turn north. Follow this sidewalk north for approximately 150 feet to the service vehicle drive described above. You will turn east. A site clue to find the drive entrance might be feeling where the shrubbery ends along the east side of the sidewalk.
The entrance pair of doors may be activated by push-plates mounted just east of the doors. You will enter a vestibule area before encountering a second pair of push-plate activated doors leading you into the basement level. The plates are mounted to the vestibule east wall.
Gregory Hall is an E shaped building, with the fingers of the E protruding to the north. The hallways will be referred to according to their general locations in plan. For instance, the fingers of the E will be named West, Middle and East, and the main hallway or body connecting them together is the South hallway. The entry just described is at the north end of the West hallway.
Upon entry, the elevator is 70 feet south on the east side of this hall. The elevator will service all basement through fourth floors. The nearest stairwell is just around the corner from the elevator in the south hallway on its north side.
Tactile signage is available near most classroom and lecture room doors.
Room numbers for the basement begin with 1 in the northeast corner and increase south in a relatively sequential pattern clockwise, ending with room 46 in the northwest corner of the basement. Rooms 1 through 7 are separated in elevation 9 steps down. The middle finger of this E shape is rooms 14,18, 20, 22, 24 and 26. They are accessible by a chairlift on the east of this hallway, or 9 steps down to the west of the lift.
The first floor room numbers begin with lecture room 100 in the northeast corner, increase south, the middle branch is auditorium number 112, and the numbers end with lecture room 122 in the northwest corner.
Accessible restrooms are located on the first floor. Mens restroom is in room number 116, 32 feet east of the west and south hallway intersections, on the north side of the hall. Womens accessible restroom is number 112, 32 feet west of the south and east hallway intersections, on the north side of the hall.
The nearest accessible drinking fountain is located on the first floor. It is 10 feet east of the west and south hallways intersection, in the south hall on the south side. A pay phone is inside a stairway-vestibule on the south side of the south hallway, just east of the drinking fountain. Proceed with extreme caution, as the phone is on the west wall of this vestibule, however it is sandwiched between the doors and stairs going down. There is only a 3 foot clearance and no handrails provided for these stairs to use as an indicator.
Assistive listening systems are provided in lecture hall 100, auditorium 112 and lecture hall 213 on the second floor.
