Continue to eliminate unapproved plumbed connections to the storm sewer system
For the past 5 years, the Maintenance Division has identified and corrected illicit connections to the storm sewer system. The Division began a study that evaluated drains in 60 buildings on the main quad -- this includes 2115 drains! Although modern building code requires that drains connect to the sanitary system, some older campus buildings still had out of date connections. This program ensures that the building drains are correct and keeps Boneyard Creek clean. The Division is continuing this program by looking at another 60 buildings on the Bardeen Quad.
