Apply LEED™ standards and practices in all building construction and renovation over $5M
The Construction Management Division has successfully applied LEED™ standards and practices to capital construction projects over $5M. The first campus LEED™ project, the Business Instructional Facility, is complete and occupied. Designers originally planned for this building to receive Silver Certification, but Construction Management expects to surpass this goal and achieve Gold and possibly Platinum Certification.
Two new projects currently under construction, NCSA Petascale Building and Student Dining/Residential Programs Building, will seek LEED™ Silver Certification. Future projects in this category include the Electrical & Computer Engineering Building and additions to Newmark Civil Engineering Building and Huff Hall.
